Believe You Me

You tried to bring down the rain to wash them all away
Then paint a rainbow on the empty bones.
While you try to dream it up and build it up as best you can.
But now the carcass just sits on the hillside, you can see the remains now that all that remains to see
Is whether we can ride this storm or just drown in the glass you left half empty.
Excuse you me
But it isn't very ever after
To steal this view so easily
And leave behind a note to say you're up and out and on your way.
This legacy is something to be treasured when a lack of support can lead to this victory of sorts.
You turned a castle to rubble and left behind nothing but empty shops.
I used to look at the colour and sound of people but now all is grey with the silence of still machines.
Even with our glass half full all of our pockets are empty now.
So believe you me.
You can leave us all forever after.
You're not welcome on these streets no more.
When one and one is three then who's gonna listen to
Your one in four.

Al Sadr

Shadows of shame fall on a land full power, and pain, and struggles for valour,
So tighten up your noose if you think that this will remedy battles we engage in and eventually lose.
And they spat in your face on your final day, but now you’ve gone and what difference has it made?
All that’s left is a world of indifference, greed and hate and people scattered
They spat in your face and screamed Al Sadr.
Let’s make up our minds; can we keep wasting our time?
Could we procrastinate the outcome until it’s clearly visible?
Let’s make up our minds, as a freshly cut blast through the air from a road side bomb is a sign of despair from the populous.
Yet the message reaches none of us.
I’m not trying to say what’s right, not saying I’ve got the answer,
But we can see that’s something’s wrong
Not for a second could compare the complexity.
Not trying to say what’s right, not saying I’ve got the answers,
But we know what’s right
And they spat in your face on your final day, but now you’ve gone and what difference has it made?
All that’s left is a world of indifference, greed and hate and people scattered
They spat in your face and screamed…
